During 2003 Printing Industries did an audit of emerging environmental policy issues impacting or likely to impact on the printing and related industries. The issues varied in impact, complexity and range. They ranged from the discharge of chemical substances to compliance with regulatory measures such as the National Pollutant Inventory and the National Packaging Covenant. High on the agenda was extended producer responsibility and the associated responsibilities that relate to product stewardship.
