Adobe promo marks end to old upgrade options - 13/12/2011

Printing Industries is encouraging its members to upgrade their Adobe software following the software giant’s decision to discontinue upgrade options from all but the most current versions.

From 1 January 2012 the existing upgrade path will be discontinued from all Adobe CS2, CS3 and CS4 products.

The association is providing an additional discount from now until 22 December 2012 on top of the normal Printing Industries member discount rate to improve upgrade affordability.

Printing Industries National Communication and Technical Services Manager, Joe Kowalewski, said future upgrades would only be supported from Adobe CS5 or 5.5 versions onwards.

“This global decision by Adobe means that as future product versions, including upgrades become available, you will need to buy a full new product unless you are running CS versions 5 or 5.5 which now become the only recognised upgrade path,” he said.

“This limited time promotion will allow cost savings of up to 20 per cent in addition to our member discounted prices easing the cost for our members. On some suites this means additional savings of up to $300.”
