Print Estimating and Planning Course - 23/6/2010

Printing Industries is introducing a new one-day Print Estimating and Planning course to keep its NSW members up to date with the latest knowledge and processes.

This introductory course is designed and developed to provide an overview of the basic principles and practices of the estimating and planning process. 

It is perfect for those inside the printing industry, such as company owners, managers, supervisors and sales teams.

The course objectives are to help staff to: 

  • Learn the correct methods to prepare and present an accurate quote
  • Develop an understanding of the principles behind 'hourly rates'
  • Have an awareness of the differences between various print materials
  • Understand the concepts of Planning and Imposing
  • Be able to comprehend and explain Estimating Standards
  • Be able to proficiently work through actual working estimates  
  • Get insight into the Print Estimating and Planning Processes

The following industry professionals can all benefit from having a good understanding of planning and estimating principles and processes:

Print Buyers • Print Production Co-ordinators• Graphic Designers.

By the end of the one-day course participants will be able to:

  • Read a quote with understanding
  • Familiarise themselves with printing terminology and how it affects the estimating and costing process
  • Apply what they have learned and advance their careers in the printing industry
