Green Stamp Funding Extension - 24/5/2006 Funding for WA Green Stamp Program has been extended for a further three years. The announcement was made after discussions with the Minister for the Environment, Mark McGowan, and the Waste Management Board of Western Australia. The conditional program extension directly affects three employer bodies currently running the program - Printing Industries WA, the Motor Trade Association of Western Australia (co-developers of the program) and Building Service Contractors Association of Australia. Printing Industries, WA Regional Manger, Paul Nieuwhof said: "This is fantastic news, we have been working very hard on the Green Stamp Program to make it an essential service for all WA members. "This is also great news for current participants who want to progress and achieve a higher accreditation. "The Green Stamp Program assists participants integrate Best Management Practices into their daily operations and minimises the environmental impact of their business", he said. Adopting a grass-roots approach, the program assists small to medium-sized businesses incorporate processes that avoid, reduce, reuse, recycle and dispose of waste in an environmentally friendly manner. Much of the success of the program comes from the fact that it has been developed in conjunction with the relevant industry associations. The issues that are addressed are also specific to the targeted business.
